While ChatGPT is excellent for quick answers and ideation, it struggles to support users who want to create and manage detailed documents. The interface is designed for conversation, not creation. There’s no clear way to organize content, no document mode, and no formatting tools that writers typically rely on. This limitation creates friction for users trying to write proposals, articles, or research notes inside the platform. Conversations grow long and hard to navigate, and the lack of document management makes it difficult to pick up where you left off or maintain focus across multiple ideas.
I started by identifying specific pain points users face when trying to write within ChatGPT. Through personal usage patterns and community feedback, I noticed a common theme: people wanted to do more, but the interface held them back. I reimagined the platform with a document-first mindset—allowing users to create, manage, and organize content without sacrificing the conversational power of AI. I designed a dual-mode interface that lets users switch between Chat and Document views. Each document has its own space, with editable sections, inline formatting, and a clear structure that’s easy to follow. The experience feels familiar like a writing tool, but enhanced by AI’s ability to generate, rewrite, and assist on demand.

The result is a cleaner, more focused experience that turns ChatGPT into a powerful space for writing. Users can now manage multiple documents, edit sections independently, and keep their work structured and searchable. It transforms ChatGPT from a chat-based tool into a real content creation platform—bridging the gap between casual interaction and professional output.
This project was about vision. I didn’t redesign ChatGPT to make it prettier—I redesigned it because I believe its intelligence deserves a more intelligent interface. There are hundreds of AI products, but very few that feel both powerful and personal. With this concept, I aimed to create an experience that respects the user’s time, creativity, and focus. Not everything needs to be reinvented, but the best products are always being refined—and that’s exactly what this was.
Next projects.
